Dress Code

Dress codes encourage displine & profesionalism while empowering confidence unifilying students

Our studio colors are black, pink, and white.

*The shoes listed are what the students will need to wear for recitals. Any color can be worn in class. Tap 6, jazz 4&5 dancers may need other shoes such as tan character heels, black slip-on jazz shoes, or tan character tap heels for recital.

Creative Movement/Creative Dance

Attire- Black or pink leotard with pink, black, tan, or white tights & an optional black or pink skirt

Hair -Hair should be secured away from a dancer’s face so that it is not a distraction.

Shoes -Pink leather ballet shoes.

Ballet & Pointe

Attire- Ballet students wear a black leotard and pink tights with an optional black chiffon skirt.

In the winter months, dancers may wear a fitted black athletic jacket or a black long-sleeved shirt over their leotard as well as ballet pink or black leg warmers.  Short black spandex shorts are also acceptable, but not preferred

Hair -For Levels 5 and 6, hair must be in a bun or french twist.  All other levels hair can be secured in a ponytail, braid, or bun.

Shoes -Pink leather ballet shoes for levels 1-3. Levels 4-6 canvas pink ballet shoes.

Tap

Attire-Tap students are strongly encouraged to wear a black or pink leotard with either leggings, yoga pants, or tights and shorts. A fitted shirt in our studio colors would also be acceptable.

Fitted sweatshirts in studio colors may be worn in the colder months.

Hair-Hair should be secured away from the face in a ponytail, braid, or bun.

Shoes-Tan Mary Jane tap shoes for Intro to Tap – level 4. The shade of tan should complement a dancer’s skin tone. Levels 5+6 black lace-up or slip-on tap shoes. *

Jazz

Attire- Jazz students are strongly encouraged to wear a black or pink leotard with either leggings, yoga pants, or tights and shorts. A fitted shirt in our studio colors would also be acceptable.

Modern

Attire- Modern students are strongly encouraged to wear a black or pink leotard with either leggings or footless tights and shorts in the studio colors. A fitted shirt in our studio colors can also be worn.

Fitted sweatshirts in studio colors may be worn in the colder months

Hair -Hair should be secured away from the face in a ponytail, braid, bun, or ½ up ½ down.

Shoes- Modern dance is traditionally done barefoot. No shoes or socks allowed.

Lyrical

Attire- Lyrical students wear a black or pink leotard with either leggings or tights with a skirt or shorts. A fitted shirt in our studio colors can also be worn over a leotard.

Hair- Hair should be secured away from the face in a ponytail, braid, bun. or ½ up ½ down.

Shoes- Tan canvas ballet shoes to match the tan tights color. The shade of tan should complement a dancer’s skin tone.

Hip-hop

Attire- Hip hop students should wear a t-shirt or sweatshirt with sweatpants in the studio colors. Leggings are a good second choice. Tights & leotards are discouraged for this style. Baggy clothing is preferred.

Hair- Students have the option to wear their hair down for this class.

Shoes-Clean black sneakers that are not worn outside. Preferably ones made for dancing.

Theater

Attire: Students of this class should wear dance or athletic wear in the studio colors

Hair- Students should wear their hair up and out of their face.

Shoes- Footwear for this class varies. Jazz shoes and barre feet are most common.

Boys

Creative Dance/Creative Movement

  • Attire- Male students should wear a solid white shirt with black athletic pants or shorts.

  • Shoes -Black ballet or jazz shoes

Ballet & Lyrical

  • Attire- Male students should wear a solid white shirt with black athletic pants , black leggings, or black shorts.

  • Shoes: Black or tan ballet shoes

All other styles

  • Attire- Male students should wear a solid shirt in the studio colors with black athletic pants or black shorts.

  • Shoes

    • Tap: Black lace-up tap shoes

    • Jazz: Black or tan slip-on jazz shoes

    • Hip Hop: Back sneakers

    • Modern: Barefeet
